Introduction to Sock Knitting Workshop - Wednesday 9th, 16th & 23rd October 2024, 6:30pm-8:30pm

I’m super excited that you are interested in making your first pair of knitted socks. I remember making my first pair and being blown away with such a sense of achievement and I know you will too.

Things you shoudl know before booking:

This course is perfect for people who are happy and experienced with casting-on, knitting/purling in the round and have some experience of increasing and deceasing.  Experience of magic loop technique is very beneficial but not 100% compulsory.

We will learn how to correctly chose which sock size to make, knit a cuff down sock with a heel flap, heel turn, gusset and a grafted toe. This sock classes are limited to 4 students which means you get lots of attention. The second session may run on an extra 15-20min as this is the most involved session of the three.

You will need to bring a pair of 3.5mm circular needles with a tip to tip length of at least 32". These can be purchased in store on the day if needed.

Sock Pattern .

100g of spectacular Manos del Uruguay Alegria Grande sock yarn made from extra fine merino and a small amount of nylon for strength. Worth £22 if purchased separately.

a set of 9" short circular sock needles worth £9 if purchased separately.

Darning needles, scissors and tape measure for use in class

Important Information

 The workshops take place upstairs in the shop which is accessed via a spiral staircase.

This course requires at least 3 booking to go ahead, if we do not reach the minimum number of bookings you will be offered a different date or a refund.

Due to the small number of spaces available please do let us know as soon as possible if you can no longer attend as we can only offer a refund if we are able to fill your spot.
