Welcome to our class that will demystify everything about how to pick up stitches in your knitting projects.

So often we hear from customer how much they hate picking up stitches. They find it fiddly and they find they need to repeat the process many times to get achieve something that looks good. This course is perfect for you if you are nodding your head and feeling the same. Improve your knitting skills by mastering how to pick up stitches on different edge types. This workshop covers the basics, common pitfalls to avoid, and techniques for picking up stitches on vertical, horizontal, sloped, and curved edges.

This workshop will start with a quick overview of why picking up stitches is important. Then, we'll look at different situations where you might need to pick up stitches and explain when these techniques are used. Each method will include practical tips and a step-by-step demo. You'll also get to practice on a small swatch. 

By the end of the session, you'll know how to pick up stitches neatly and confidently, helping you take your knitting skills to the next level. 

Prerequisites and Materials 

You should have basic knitting skills, such as casting on, knitting, purling, making knit decreases, and binding off. 

You will need: 

● DK weight yarn in a light colour 

● Knitting needles suitable for the chosen yarn 

● A prepared swatch, as described in the Homework section of the handout 

● Stitch marker 

● (Optional for the bonus method) Crochet hook suitable for the chosen yarn

The workshop takes place upstairs in the store which is accessed via a spiral staircase. Toilets are available and are accessed by another spiral staircase.

We need a minimum number of bookings for this class to go ahead, If we do not meet the minimum 4 days before the workshop you will be offered a new date or a refund. 

Finally, if you are no longer able to attend the workshop please let us know as soon as possible as a refund can only be offered if we are able to re-fill your spot.
