About the Lambswool Yarn Collection
Only the first shearing produces lambswool, taken when a lamb is around six months old and never cut before, so the fibre tips remain naturally fine. Knitted up, it has a light, slightly crisp character that blooms after washing into a soft, fuller fabric. Several bases here are spun in Scotland, where the fibre has a long heritage, including a 4ply that works well for colourwork because the woolly surface lets neighbouring stitches grip each other. Mini skeins, a cashmere blend and kits for a shawl and a hot water bottle cover complete the page.
