Ice does the dyeing at Josie Rose: each bag's fabric is covered in ice with dye scattered on top, and as it melts, the colour travels unpredictably through the cotton, so no two pieces ever match.
The maker, an independent designer, finishes each one with a full lining, structured interfacing and inside pockets for tools. A small tab and ring on the outside earn their keep, holding a notions pouch or guiding working yarn from a ball stored inside. Sizes run from sock projects to extra large, in colourways named after the woodland garden in Richmond Park.
