Full Day Workshop- Toe-Up Triumph: Crafting the Perfect Fitting Sock
Welcome to our Toe-Up Sock Knitting Class with Zanete.
Improve your sock knitting skills and learn to knit the perfect knitting toe-up sock in this two-part workshop with the incredible knitwear designer and teacher Zanete. Have you already attended our Introduction to Sock Knitting workshop? Want to learn more? Perfect! In this workshop you'll cover common challenges with toe-up specific sock patterns and the advantages of starting from the toe. You'll also master essential techniques like closed cast-on, sole gusset and a reinforced heel flap to create comfortable, well-fitting socks with hands-on practice of all the techniques. Perfect for any sock knitters looking to improve and add to their sock knitting skills.
In the first part before lunch, we’ll cover sock constructions, their pros and cons and practice key techniques like Judy’s Magic Cast-On and lifted increases to create the toe, instep, and gusset. By the end, you'll have a swatch ready to start the heel in part 2.
After lunch In the second part, we’ll be shaping the heel with short rows, look at how to create a sturdy heel flap using a reinforced slip stitch pattern and finish with a stretchy bind-off for the leg.
