About the BFL - Blue Faced Leicester Yarn Collection
A dark blue grey skin glimpsed beneath white fleece gives the Bluefaced Leicester its name, a breed developed in Northumberland at the start of the twentieth century. Its wool is the finest of the British longwools, combining a gentle sheen and fluid drape with far more softness than its lustrous relatives. Spinners prize the long staples, which twist into strong, smooth yarns that excel as socks yet feel comfortable at the neck. The bases here run from 4ply to aran, including a DK softened further with silk and a blend with other native British fleeces.
