About the British Yarn Collection
Wool grown and spun on home soil has a character all of its own, and this page gathers it together. Several bases come from a family-run mill in Devon, including Bluefaced Leicester sock yarn and the playfully named Yarnadelic range. Marie Wallin, once head designer at Rowan, contributes her British Breeds Aran, along with kits for cowls, socks, and armwarmers worked in it. The most local option of all is London Wool, spun from fleece raised on the capital's own city farms. Weights sit between 4ply and aran, suited to textured stitches that show breed character.
