Chantal Mitten Kit

Are these GORGEOUS! The Chantal Mittens by Moreca Knits are a classic and I need a pair in every colour. The pattern includes two variations: fingerless mitts and classic mittens and we have kits for each.

The mittens are worked in the round in a slip stitch pattern, starting at the cuff. After shaping the thumb gusset with increases, the thumb stitches are placed on hold, and the hand is worked straight.  each finished with tailored shaping. The thumb is completed last, ensuring a snug and polished fit.

Your kit includes 2 or 3 balls of Cardiff Cashmere Classic in your chosen colour depending on your size and chosen style (mittens or fingerless mittens) and a copy of the knitting patten emailed to you in PDF form.

Size guide:
The Chantal Mittens have a slim fit and are designed without positive ease. The sizes S / M / L / XL are designed to fit a hand circumference of 15-16 / 17-18 / 19-20 / 21-22 cm 6-6¼ / 6¾-7 / 7½-7¾ / 8¼-8½ in.

Before you begin, measure your hand to determine the right size. For example, if your hand circumference is 17 cm 6¾ in, you should knit size M. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size to avoid excessive stretching during wear.

Classic mittens:

50 / 50 / 75 / 75 g Cashmere Classic by Cardiff Cashmere 25 g = 120 m 110 yds.

Fingerless mitts

50 / 50 / 50 / 75 g Cashmere Classic by Cardiff Cashmere 25 g = 120 m 110 yds.

Suggested needles:

3 mm/US 2½ double pointed needles or long circular needles for the Magic Loop technique.

Stitch markers, extra yarn or stitch holders, tapestry needle.

Gauge:
After washing and blocking:
30 sts x 44 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 in in a slip stitch pattern on 3 mm US 2½ needles.
