Lace weight is the finest yarn weight available, typically knitted on 2 to 3.5mm needles to create delicate, open fabrics with beautiful drape. It is the go-to choice for intricately patterned shawls, wraps, stoles and lightweight accessories where every stitch is visible. Lace weight also works beautifully held double; using two strands together brings it up to a fingering or DK weight, making it a versatile choice for lightweight jumpers with a softer, more fluid feel than a standard single-ply.
