Knit By Numbers

Knit with Me is one of the first local UK yarn shops that have this incredible new yarn blend from John Arbon Textiles and we can't wait to tell you about it!

This is something that Jonn Arbon Textiles have been working on behind the scenes for a while now. John Arbon are replacing all their 100% Merino with a scrumptious blend of 50% Merino / 50% Bluefaced Leicester. They are passionate about trying to use as much UK grown fibre as possible (both to lower transport emissions and support our local wool growing industry) and this change is certainly going to help us them achieve this, which is brilliant. 

We love the softness of Merino – who doesn’t? Which is why they have chosen to add the softest of British breeds, Bluefaced Leicester. This sheep is renowned for its lustrous locks, which have a delicate sheen to them. So the new base has a little more lustre and drape, but still packed with crisp stitch definition and soft enough to wear next to the skin (even in the most delicate areas).

Knit by Numbers has an innovative colour palette that aims to provide the precise shade required. Each colour range is available in 6 shades – going from dark to light, and each colour is given a unique number reference, rather than a name, hence the range being called Knit By Numbers.
