Tussah Tweed

Tussah Tweed from BC Garn is an exciting yarn with fine tweed nepsies and a very distinct stitch definition. BC Garn Tussah Tweed is very stable and feels a bit stiff at the beginning, but gets softer and softer the more you wash and wear it and transforms into the most gorgeous and luxurious material. For this reason, it is not only suitable for hand knitting, but also for the knitting machine, for weaving and embroidery. Think summer t-shirts and vests with a tweed and slubby structure, or can be held with other yarns for a more pronounced marled material. We have test knits in our UK Richmond, London store. 

It is processed from the cocoons of wild butterflies which are allowed to flee the cocoon before it is processed into silk. Thus Tussah Tweed can be called a "cruelty-free silk".

Gauge: 24 stitches in 10cm

Hand wash only in cold water and lay flat to dry.
