A measure of nylon is the difference between socks that wear through in months and socks that last for years. The fibre adds abrasion resistance exactly where socks take the most punishment, at heels, toes, and anywhere shoes rub. Most bases here follow the classic sock formula of roughly three-quarters wool to one-quarter nylon, in 4ply for standard socks and a plumper DK for quicker pairs. Mini skeins allow contrast heels and toes, while complete kits pair hand dyed skeins with a pattern, ready to cast on.
