The Monica Scarf is a scrumptious, light, airy and warm scarf designed by the talented Angela Pickles aka @yellyswonder. Using marling and intarsia, it creates a gorgeous checked pattern that never goes out of style. In fact I have seen similar scarfs in stores such as Toast and Anthropology recently and thought in our collective knitters voice "I could knit that". The different check colours come from holding two of the three Suri colours in different combinations. We have put together a few of our absolute favourite colour combos for this design and we cannot wait to see them all knitted up.
The kits includes: three skeins of Zakami Fingering Weight 100% Brushed Sure Alpaca in contrasting colours and the Monica Scarf Pattern emailed to you in PDF format direct from Ravelry. If you have a Ravelry account and would like it saved to your library please include your account username in the notes on checkout.
Yarn Composition: 100% Brushed Suri Alpaca
Finished Scarf Dimensions: 30cm x 180cm/12 inches x 70 inches (size is very easily modified to suit your personal preference, this will affect the amount of yarn required)
Needle Size recommendation: 6mm
Gauge: 14st x 28 rows in a 10cm x 10cm square in garter stitch knitted flat holding two thread together after blocking.
Hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry. If using more than one colour in your garment it is recommended that you block a swatch to check for colour bleeding when using high contrasting colours. Also due to the individual nature of hand-dyed yarn, I would always recommend alternating skeins.
