A Scots word meaning snug, warm or cozy, this Pochie will keep both you and your hot water bottle toasty! This incredible knitting pattern by renowned knitwear designer Kate Davies is a joy to knit and is the perfect gift to yourself or a crafting friend. I can imagine this making the perfect Christmas Eve cast-on too.

Your kit will includes -

- a copy of the knitting pattern (emailed to you direct from Ravelry)

- yarn (according to your kit colour choice)

- and a hot water bottle.

All you need to add is some knitting needles (suggested 4mm, but check your gauge) and some kitting of course, then you'll have your very own Pochie! If you have a Ravelry account and would like the pattern saved in your library as well as emailed to you please add your username to the notes section when placing your order.

Note: I used two balls of the MC for my sample with only around 2 meters left to spare. I extended the length of the hot water bottle collar in my sample. If you are nervous about needing more yarn we recommend adding an extra ball of yarn in the MC to your purchase.

Choose from the following gorgeous colour ways ... Classic, Festive or Rainbow.

Classic Kit (as seen knittedp iun images) contains 3 balls of Lore minis, 1 x Serene (CC) and 2 x Confident (MC).

Festive Kit contains 3 balls of Lore minis, 1 x Serene (CC) and 2 x Sensitive (MC).

Rainbow Kit contains 7 balls of Lore minis, 1 x Happiness (F), 1 x Passionate (E), 1 x Healer (D), 1 x Heaven (C), 1 x Wise (B) and 2 x Serene (A). You can use the CC colours however you wish but we like them assigned to the letters above as in the pattern.

Pattern details -

This hot water bottle cover, worked bottom-up, begins with a winding cast-on. After a few rounds of shaping, the body is worked from a colourwork chart and when the chart is complete, waste yarn is inserted to create an ‘afterthought’ opening. The top is shaped, a ribbed cuff worked, and stitches are then picked up above and below the opening. Two ribbed edgings are then worked, finished with i-cord and a button loop, and the top edge secured to overlap the bottom. The two edges are stitched closed at the sides, and after a button is stitched in place, the cosy is complete.
