Polina Sweater Kit

We LOVE the Polina pullover designed by the taletned Teti Lutsak and we have knitted ours using the colours included in "Carol's Polina Kit" option. The bottom colour in the photos are the Main Colour for the background, neckline and hem. The top colour is the Contrast Colour used for the colourwork motif.

The pullover is knit top-down in the round with a large botanical motif colourwork pattern on the yoke and a smaller one on the body and sleeves. The pattern also comes with three neck options: ruffled mock, double folded and a regular crew neck.It asks for a sport weight yarn and we knitted ours using Ulysse by De Rerum Natura and it was a dream! So we just had to make some kits up with our favourite colour combos. 

The Polina pullover is inspired by the naive art of the Ukrainian self-taught painter, Polina Raiko. Everything in her house — walls, ceilings, doors, and fence — she covered in enamel-painted drawings of fantastic birds and flowers, Christian iconography, and the artist’s own interpretations of her dreams and life events. Unfortunately most of her work is lost due to the flooding of the house after the destruction of Kakhovka dam in June 2023. Sadly, the war keeps destroying the cultural heritage of Teti's homeland. so this was Teti's humble love letter to her.

• A copy of the Polina pattern by Teti Lutsak emailed to you direct from Ravelry. If you would like the pattern saved to your Ravelry Account please include your Ravelry username in the notes at checkout. If you would also like a paper copy of the pattern included in your order please mention this in the notes section at checkout. 

Choose which size to Order

Size Information: At least 10-15cm (4-6inches) of positive ease is recommended by the pattern designer.

Please note that these amounts are for the cropped version as seem in the photos. If you plan on making your pullover longer more yarn may be required over and above that suggested above and included in your kit  It should also be noted that Size 1 requires approx 4.98 balls in the main colour, Size 4 requires 1.8 balls in the contrast colour and size 5 requires 7.9 balls in the main colour. Please take this into account.
