Snefnug is one of the most popular yarns we stock at Knit With Me, and once you feel it, it is not hard to see why. Soft, light and beautifully airy, it is one of those yarns that knitters keep coming back to.
Snefnug means snowflake in Danish, and the name really suits it. Made from 55% baby alpaca, 35% organic cotton, and 10% extra-fine merino wool, it is constructed as a chainette yarn with a fine cotton tube at its core, into which a blend of baby alpaca and merino is blown. That construction gives it an incredible softness and lightness without losing any strength. It is particularly lovely for baby and children's knitwear, and equally at home in oversized sweaters, cardigans, scarves and hats for adults. It comes in a wonderful range of colours, so there is plenty of room to express your own colour personality.

Yarn Weight: Chunky. Due to its chainette structure, this yarn works across a wide range of needle sizes.
Recommended Gauge: Using 4mm needles, 12 to 16 stitches x 24 rows per 10 x 10cm. Always knit a swatch as gauge is for guidance only.
Recommended Knitting Needles: 4mm to 6mm (US 6 to 10)
Recommended Crochet Hook: 4mm to 6mm (US G/6 to J/10)
Knitting Machine: Not suitable for knitting machines.
Care Instructions: Hand wash with a wool detergent and lay flat to dry.
Other Information: Made in Italy. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, meaning the materials contain no harmful chemicals. Licence no. 2176-346.
