A single 100g skein typically holds around 400 metres, enough for a pair of adult socks or a modest shawl, which keeps whole projects portable. Gauge sits near 28 stitches per 10cm on needles around 2.5 to 3mm, fine enough for crisp colourwork and airy lace alike. Bases here include pure merino, silk, lambswool, and hardier wool nylon sock blends, in solids, speckles and self-striping balls.
