Introduction to Sock Knitting

Welcome to the perfect workshop on knitting your first pair of socks! I remember making my first pair and being blown away with such a sense of achievement and I know you will too.

Things you need to know before booking-

This course is perfect for people who are happy and experienced with casting-on, knitting/purling in the round and have some experience of increasing and deceasing.  Experience of magic loop technique is very beneficial but not 100% compulsory.

We will learn how to correctly chose which sock size to make, knit a cuff down sock with a heel flap, heel turn, gusset and a grafted toe. This sock classes are limited to 6 students which means you get lots of attention. The second session may run on an extra 30 min as this is the most involved session of the three.

Things you need to bring with you 

a pair of 3mm, 32inch tip to tip circular knitting needles.

-Sock Pattern

-100g of stunning Ainsworth & Prin hand-dyed DK sock yarn worth £22 if purchased separately. Please have a look at the yarn HERE and chose the colour you would like and we will have it wound for you. Just add a note when you book, or send us an email telling us. 

-a set of 9" short circular sock needles worth £9 if purchased separately.

-Darning needles, scissors and tape measure for use in class

The workshops take place upstairs in the shop which is accessed via a spiral staircase. 

This course requires at least 3 booking to go ahead, if we do not reach the minimum number of bookings you will be offered a different date or a refund.

Due to the small number of spaces available please do let us know as soon as possible if you can no longer attend as we can only offer a refund if we are able to fill your spot.
