Noro Haunui is a natural and unique mixed-breed merino wool from the Taranui farm in New Zealand and it comes in stunning 200g barrels. Noro Haunui is pronounced Hoo-noo-ee and translates as “place of the winds”. This limited-quality, un-dyed yarn is something true wool lovers will adore and cherish. No two sheep are exactly the same colour, but their fleece fall into colour categories, and each are blended to create rich shades of oatmeal, brown, grey, and black.
Noro HAUNUI carries a micron count of 22-24 with each meticulously checked fleece tracked and graded to ensure the best selection of quality and colour. Animal welfare is of chief importance at the Taranui Farm.
The natural fleece from New Zealand is exported to NORO, in Japan, where it is lovingly carded and spun. With great respect for the wool’s natural qualities, and as per Noro’s exacting standards, the fleece is never over processed.
