The Air Sweater is a generously oversized pullover with a cosy mock turtleneck, dropped shoulders and long, roomy sleeves. As the name suggests, it is wonderfully light to wear. The pattern is written for Lamana Como Grande, an air spun superfine merino that gives a soft, lofty fabric without any of the weight you would expect from a chunky sweater. The sample is knitted in 73M Rust Melange.

It is knitted seamlessly from the top down in a modular construction, starting with a Judy's magic cast on. German short rows shape the fit, stitches are picked up and held along the way, and the pattern comes with photo and video support for the key techniques.

This kit includes the pattern, emailed to you from Ravelry, and the Como Grande yarn needed for your chosen size. Choose your colour of Como Grande, then pick your size and we will add the right number of balls to your basket.

Yarn: 9 (10, 10, 11, 12, 12, 13, 13, 14) balls of Lamana Como Grande in your chosen colour.

Sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
To fit bust: 76 (86, 91, 101.5, 112, 122, 131.5, 140, 152) cm [30 (34, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60)"]
Finished bust: approx. 103.5 (113.5, 117, 127, 133.5, 140, 143.5, 153.5, 163.5) cm [41¼ (45¼, 46¾, 50¾, 53¼, 56, 57¼, 61¼, 65¼)"] with an intended positive ease of approx. 26.5-28 cm [10¾-11¼"] for sizes XS to L, and gradually less for sizes XL to 5XL
Gauge/Tension: 18 sts x 26 rows = 10 cm [4"] in stocking stitch worked flat on 5 mm [US8] needles, after blocking
Needles (not included): 5 mm [US8], 4.5 mm [US7] and 4 mm [US6] circular needles in 40 cm and 80 or 100 cm lengths

About the Yarn

Como Grande is part of the Lamana SUPERLIGHT collection. Its air spun construction traps air inside the yarn, so garments knitted with it weigh far less than usual while staying soft, warm and beautifully lofty. It is also easy to care for, with a gentle cold machine wash.
