Overview
Astrid Sweater Kit
Yarn + Knitting Pattern
Knitting For Olive
Astrid Sweater is a relaxed, easy to wear jumper knitted in stocking stitch, holding one strand of Knitting for Olive Merino together with one strand of Soft Silk Mohair throughout. The curved hem with splits at each side is echoed by ribbed edges at the neckline and cuffs, giving a simple shape a soft, polished finish.
This sweater is knitted bottom-up. You begin with the two hem pieces worked back and forth, then join them and knit the body in the round up to the underarms. The front and back are finished separately, and the sleeves are picked up and knitted in the round from the top down.
This kit includes the free PDF pattern and the yarn needed for your chosen size. Choose your Merino colour and your Soft Silk Mohair colour, select your size, and we will add the right number of balls of each to your basket.
You are purchasing a digital knitting pattern and yarn, not the item itself.

About the Yarn
Knitting for Olive Merino is a soft, smooth fingering weight merino with beautiful stitch definition, available in a wide range of muted, Scandinavian inspired shades.
Soft Silk Mohair is a light, airy blend of kid mohair and silk. Held together with Merino it adds warmth and a gentle halo without adding weight, giving the sweater a soft, fluid drape.
About Knitting for Olive
Knitting for Olive is a Danish family-run yarn company founded in 2015 by mother and daughter, Pernille and Caroline, with son and brother, Alexander, joining the business in 2022. What began as a small line of baby and toddler knitting patterns grew into a full range of designs for children and adults, and in 2016 the family launched their own yarn, starting with Merino and later expanding to include Soft Silk Mohair, Pure Silk, No Waste Wool and more.
Ethical production sits at the core of the brand. Knitting for Olive is certified to the Responsible Wool Standard and Responsible Mohair Standard, meaning their wool and mohair can be traced from farm to finished yarn, and their silk is produced cruelty-free using threads from cocoons the silkworms have already left naturally.
With its roots in Copenhagen and two physical stores in Denmark, Knitting for Olive has grown into a brand trusted by knitters worldwide for combining quality natural fibres with genuine care for animals, workers and the environment.
