Ériu ("air-oo") is a super soft merino yarn. The boucle texture makes it incredibly versatile, allowing it to be used as a substitute in patterns calling for DK or worsted weights, adding a beautiful new dimension to plain knits. Two strands can be used for substituting in chunkier knits.
Named after the patron goddess of Ireland, Ériu is the Old Irish name for Ireland.

Wild Atlantic Yarns
Wild Atlantic Yarns is a small, family run hand-dyed yarn studio based in the North West of Ireland.
The rich heritage and stunning landscape of Ireland are the influences and inspiration behind our designs, and we draw upon Irish art, literature and nature when creating new colour stories. Our colourway titles reflect the story of our design choices.
WAY use professional grade, colour and light fast dyes.
WAY - "Living in such beautiful surroundings is a constant reminder of the importance of sustainability. Wherever possible, we take steps to reduce our environmental impact. Food grade citric acid is used to set our colours, dye baths are exhausted and water recycled to minimise waste.
We are beyond fortunate to live 10min from the Atlantic Ocean.
While our local beaches are thankfully pristine, plastic pollution is an ever present and growing concern. As such, Wild Atlantic Yarns has a zero plastic shipping policy. Wherever possible, we take steps to reduce our environmental impact. Food grade citric acid is used to set our colours, dye baths are exhausted, water recycled to minimise waste and our yarn allowed to dry naturally in the fresh air of the Donegal mountains.
We will continue to strive for ways to prevent injury to, and protect our precious environment.
We are beyond fortunate to live five minutes from the Atlantic Ocean.
While our local beaches are thankfully pristine, plastic pollution is an ever present and growing concern. Having seen the destructive and far reaching effects of plastic during her time as an environmental geologist, Kathleen has pledged to minimise her own family’s plastic waste. As such, Wild Atlantic Yarns has a zero plastic shipping policy. All of our orders are lovingly wrapped in recycled paper materials, mailed in robust kraft paper postal bags, and paper eco tape used where needed. We are proud to say that the end result is a kinder (and prettier) package.
Donegal is at the tippy top of The Wild Atlantic Way, the world’s longest defined coastal touring route. Its 2500km is home to some of the world’s most spectacular scenery, warm hospitality and unforgettable experiences. Our studio sits on The Wild Atlantic Way, and our company name is in tribute to its beauty."
