Overview

Lineage Socks Kit

Ainsworth & Prin Classic Sock + Knitting Pattern

The Knitting Shed

Socks to keep your whole family's feet warm and snug. The socks are knit from the cuff down; the leg is worked in a rib and garter pattern which changes to rib across the instep, and the heel flap is in rib with a garter-stitch edge. This kit includes the printed pattern and a full skein of Ainsworth & Prin Classic Sock as the main colour.

NOTE: this design also uses two small amounts of contrast colours which are not included in this kit. We recommend using scrap yarn in your stash, or using a mini skein of sock yarn.

You are purchasing a printed knitting pattern and yarn, not the item itself.

Sizes: Five sizes. Actual circumference after blocking: 12 (14.5: 17: 19.5: 22) cm / 4¾ (5¾: 6¾: 7¾: 8½) in. All sizes require one skein of yarn.

Tension: 33 sts and 48 rounds to 10 cm / 4 in over stocking stitch using 2.25 mm / US 1 needles, after blocking.

Reference materials (yarn provided): Ainsworth & Prin Classic Sock (80% superwash merino, 20% nylon; 365 m per 100 g skein). Main colour 1 skein, plus two small contrast colours (Colour A 73–311 m, Colour B 19–48 m, Colour C 8–22 m; amount varies with foot length).

About the Yarn

Ainsworth & Prin Classic Sock is a hand-dyed, non-mulesed merino and nylon fingering-weight yarn for beautifully soft, durable socks. 365 m per 100 g.

About The Knitting Shed

The Knitting Shed is run by sisters Louise and Nicola, based in West Sussex at the edge of the South Downs. Brought up in a family of makers, they design hand dyed yarns and knitting patterns inspired by the local landscape around their period cottages.
