I can imagine Charles Dickens’ Miss Havisham wearing these fingerless mittens. In her faded and tattered finery, the heart motif is taken from a fire surround at the Watts Gallery, the home of G F Watts, a contemporary of Dickens and just as famous in his time.
You are purchasing a printed knitting pattern, not the item itself.
Size: One size, to fit hand circumference 18–20 cm / 7–8 in.
Tension: One repeat of the heart pattern measures 9.5 cm / 3¾ in in length and 7 cm / 2¾ in at its widest point.
Yarn: Approx. 50 g of fingering-weight sock yarn (Ainsworth & Prin Classic Sock).
