Polina Sweater Knitting Kit | Ulysse Yarn + Pattern

Polina Sweater Knitting Kit, we LOVE the Polina pullover designed by the talented Teti Lutsak, and we have knitted ours using the colours included in "Carol's Polina Kit" option. The bottom colour in the photos are the Main Colour for the background, neckline and hem. The top colour is the Contrast Colour used for the colourwork motif.

The pullover is knit top-down in the round, with a large botanical-motif colourwork pattern on the yoke and a smaller one on the body and sleeves. The pattern also comes with three neck options: ruffled mock, double folded and a regular crew neck. It asks for a sport weight yarn and we knitted ours using Ulysse by De Rerum Natura and it was a dream! So we just had to put together some kits with our favourite colour combos. 

The Polina pullover is inspired by the naive art of the Ukrainian self-taught painter, Polina Raiko. Everything in her house — walls, ceilings, doors, and fence — she covered in enamel-painted drawings of fantastic birds and flowers, Christian iconography, and the artist’s own interpretations of her dreams and life events. Unfortunately, most of her work is lost due to the flooding of the house after the destruction of the Kakhovka dam in June 2023. Sadly, the war keeps destroying the cultural heritage of Teti's homeland. So this was Teti's humble love letter to her.

Choosing Size

Size Information: At least 10-15cm (4-6inches) of positive ease is recommended by the pattern designer.

Please note that the amounts selected by the sizes are for the cropped version as seen in the photos. If you plan to make your pullover longer, more yarn may be required beyond what is suggested above and included in your kit. It should also be noted that Size 1 requires approx 4.98 balls in the main colour, Size 4 requires 1.8 balls in the contrast colour and size 5 requires 7.9 balls in the main colour. Please take this into account when knitting with your personal tension
