Thule is a cosy, chunky round yoke pullover made for the coldest days of the year. It has a soft rolled collar and a quietly beautiful yoke, where the increases are scattered to form a subtle pattern that spreads across the shoulders. The pattern is written for De Rerum Natura Cyrano, and the samples are knitted in Poivre Blanc and Poivre et Sel.

It is knitted seamlessly from the top down, starting with a stocking stitch neckband that rolls into a round collar. After the yoke, the body and sleeves are separated and knitted in the round. You can choose to add German short rows at the back and hem for extra length and a better fit, and the technique is explained in detail in the pattern.

This kit includes the pattern, emailed to you from Ravelry, and the Cyrano yarn needed for your chosen size. Choose your colour of Cyrano, then pick your size and we will add the right number of balls to your basket.

Yarn: 5 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10) balls of De Rerum Natura Cyrano in your chosen colour.

Needles (not included): 5.5 mm [US9] and 6 mm [US10] circular needles in 40 cm and 80 or 100 cm lengths, plus double pointed needles or a circular needle for small circumferences in both sizes
Notions (not included): 25 stitch markers (ideally in 3 colours), waste yarn, tapestry needle

Reference materials (yarn provided): De Rerum Natura Cyrano (150 m [164 yds] / 100 g), 100% wool, chunky. Changing the body or sleeve length will change the amount of yarn needed, so please get in touch if you would like help adjusting your quantities.

About the Yarn

Cyrano is a big, soft, round five ply yarn from De Rerum Natura, blending French Mérinos d'Arles with black Portuguese merino. Woollen spun at a small mill in France, it is warm and airy, and its natural undyed shades suit this simple, textured yoke perfectly.
