Overview
Welcome to Liz's talk to help knitters and crocheters boost their success rate by using the Ravelry database to make better informed decisions about their projects.
Liz joined Ravelry in 2009 and has used it ever since to record and share her projects, get inspiration, and make better decision when choosing projects and yarn. When she attends craft events, Liz is surprised how many crafters still don’t know about Ravelry, or just use it to purchase patterns spotted elsewhere. Ravelry has a huge database of patterns, (both free and paid), yarn, designers and people’s personal crafting records. It also hosts groups for people with shared interests, e.g. stranded knitting, an individual designer, British knitters.
Based on research with knitters about how they use Ravelry, this talk shows you how to use it to:
Decide what to make
Explore how a design might work for you
Manage your stash
Match yarn and design
Get help with a technique or design
Develop your skills
Connect with crafters with similar interests
Be inspired
